Carrying banners in condemnation of the Zionist regime’s atrocities, they urged the European Council to end Israel’s genocide on Gaza.

Meanwhile, Belgian Minister of Development Cooperation Caroline Gennez in a post on X referred to the case filed by South Africa against the Israeli regime at the International Court of Justice and said if the court rules against Israel, her country will fully support it.

Earlier, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Petra De Sutter said the European country cannot remain indifferent to the genocide in the Gaza Strip and must act against it.

She said Brussels should join South Africa in the genocide case against Israel at the ICJ.

“We cannot stand by and watch the tremendous human suffering in Gaza. We must act against the threat of genocide,” she underlined.

In its application submitted on December 29, South Africa accused Israel of committing genocide in contravention of the 1948 UN Genocide Convention, which both South Africa and the Israeli regime are party to.

The ICJ held two days of public hearings in the genocide case against Israel earlier this month. The case sets a precedent as the first at the ICJ relating to the siege on the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli regime launched a brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7.
